Markham All Galleries
The gallery encompasses the historic Kathleen McKay house dating from the 1840's and a newer 15,000 sq ft venue that offers frequently changing exhibitions from the permanent collection as well as historical contemporary exhibitions drawn from local, national and international sources. Tues to Sat 10 am - 4 pm, Sun noon - 4 pm.
The Frederick Horsman Varley Art Gallery of Markham is located in the historic village of Unionville, 20 minutes from major highways and the City of Toronto. The gallery features changing exhibitions from the permanent collection as well as historical contemporary exhibitions drawn from local, national and international sources. It encompasses the historic Kathleen McKay house dating from the 1840's that became the home of Frederick Horsman Varley for the last 12 years of his life. Mon to Sat 10 am - 5 pm, Sun noon - 5 pm. Admission charged.
The Varley Gallery features the works of both regional and international artists, with a prominent exhibit by F. H. Varley from the Group of Seven. Permanent collections as well as special displays from a variety of media can be viewed. Classes are also offered throughout the year.
